The Indianapolis Colts have announced one practice squad elevationfor Sunday's Week 1 game and also downgraded a defender from questionable to out.
Added to the game-day roster is cornerback Kenneth Harris. Elevating Harris bolsters the Colts' cornerback depth as they are without Cam Taylor-Britt, who is suspended, not to mention that the team waived Jaylon Jones earlier in the week.
Harris was a late addition to the Colts' training camp roster, signing with the team on Aug. 26 after Indianapolis released Mekhi Blackmon.
In three preseason games -- two of which were with New England -- Harris allowed just four receptions on nine targets, with three pass breakups. He was a sound tackler as well.
Harris went undrafted this past April out of Oklahoma
State.
The Colts also announced that linebacker Austin Ajiake has now been ruled out.
Ajiake was not on the injury report the first two days, but he popped up on Friday with a hamstring injury and was a non-participant.
Ajiake was likely going to fill a special-teams-heavy role had he been available.
