Indianapolis Colts tight end Tyler Warren is inactive for Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans.
Warren was not on the injury report the first two days of the week, but appeared on Friday with a groin injury. He was listed as a limited participant and was originally questionable for today's game.
On Sunday morning, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that Warren would be a game-time decision.
To state the obvious, this is a huge loss for the Colts' offense.
Warren has been a big part of the Colts' passing game, leading the team in targets, receptions, and touchdowns. His 213 receiving yards are the second-most on the team. Last week, he had his most productive game, totaling 83 receiving yards.
Along with what Warren adds to the passing game, he plays
a key role as a blocker in the run game, and his do-it-all skill set opens up the playbook for Shane Steichen.
Without Warren, the Colts will turn to Mo Alie-Cox, Drew Ogletree, Will Mallory, and Pharaoh Brown at the tight end position.
