The Indianapolis Colts have released their unofficial depth chart ahead of Sunday's Week 4 game with the Washington Commanders.
To state the obvious, with this depth chart being "unofficial," nothing is set in stone. That said, there are a few position groups that are worth noting.
Here are three observations from the Colts' latest depth chart.
Treadwell over Slayton at wide receiver
Without Alec Pierce or Ashton Dulin, Laquon Treadwell has started at wide receiver for the Colts, and he is currently listed ahead of Darius Slayton on the depth chart. Given that Slayton just joined the team, this isn't a surprise. However, it will be interesting to see how the snap counts between the two shake out in the coming weeks and if Slayton overtakes Treadwell for that starting role.
Colts' defensive end rotation
This is a position
group that is often heavily rotated. However, with Micheal Clemons on IR, the Colts are using a very thin defensive end rotation, leaning primarily on just Laiatu Latu, Arden Key, and Jaylahn Tuimoloau. DTs DeForest Buckner and Jerry Tillery got a few snaps there as well. Over the course of a long season, is this approach sustainable? Or will Caden Curry and/or George Gumbs need to take on larger roles?
Safety rotation
Linebacker isn't the only position where the Colts are rotating players. While AJ Haulcy is still starting next to Cam Bynum and is ahead of Hunte Wohler on the depth chart, he and Wohler rotated snaps at strong safety in last week's game against Houston. Haulcy played 34 snaps, and Wohler played 17 snaps.
