What is the story about?

As part of the roster cutdown process, the Indianapolis Colts are releasing veteran tight end Pharoah Brown, according to Adam Schefter.

The Colts, however, would like to get Brown back on the practice squad.

Brown was a late addition to the training camp roster, signing with the Colts on Aug. 6. He appeared in all three preseason games, catching two passes for eight yards. Of his 87 total snaps, 46% came as a blocker, according to PFF.

Brown has been in the NFL since 2017, which includes a stint with the Colts in 2023. He's appeared in 94 career games, making 56 starts, spending time with Arizona, Miami, Seattle, New England, Cleveland, Houston, and the Oakland

Raiders.

For his career, he's caught 74 passes for 752 yards with three touchdowns. He had two receptions in Arizona last season. He brings special teams experience to Indianapolis as well.
