The Indianapolis Colts came away with a much-needed win in Week 3 over the Houston Texans, and now find themselves 1-2 on the season.
In the latest Week 4 NFL power rankings, the Colts moved up across the board as a result of the win, but their current ranking still shows that there is a long way to go.

"Daniel Jones' current team, which has only scored one touchdown since Dart's injury − just go with it − also suffered three Jones turnovers in that restricted window. And while also still saddled with the league's worst defense, now seems like a good time to leave the country … for London."
Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: #20
"The defense showed improvement in the victory over the Texans, breaking a nine-game losing streak that dated back to last year. Then again, it had nowhere
to go but up. They play the Commanders in London."
Ralph Vacchiano, Fox Sports: #19
"They showed the Houston Texans what a good defense really looks like — which is incredible considering how bad the Colts defense was the first two games. I mean, they went from giving up more than 500 yards per game to giving up only 223 in Week 3. The Texans' offense isn’t good, but still, that’s an impressive turnaround. If the Colts can get defensive efforts like that, they have more than enough on offense with QB Daniel Jones and RB Jonathan Taylor to make a run at the playoffs."

"Jones has held his own after tearing an Achilles less than 10 months ago, but a couple of realities have made him a less-than-ideal fantasy quarterback compared with 2025. First, Jones has had an interception in each game. Additionally, he has thrown three touchdown passes for a 3.1% TD rate, down from 4.9% in 2025. Finally, Jones' five rushing touchdowns last season were a nice bonus, but he has none in 2026. He is currently ranked 29th among QBs in fantasy, with a season high of 11.4 points in Week 2."

"The best news for the Colts is that Daniel Jones continues to make progress. A slow start should have been expected as he was returning from a torn Achilles, and he looked rusty at times in the first two games. In Week 3, against a very good Texans defense, Jones completed 24 of 36 passes for 235 yards. He came up with enough plays on the final drive to get Indianapolis in position for a game-winning field goal, after it looked like the Colts might blow a 16-7 lead in the fourth quarter and fall to 0-3. Jones fumbled three times, losing two, but facing defensive end Will Anderson Jr. is tough for any quarterback."
Gary Davenport, Bleacher Report: #23
"To Indy's credit, the defense played its best game of the year—although that may have had more to do with the Houston offense than the Colts defense. It wasn't pretty, but the Indianapolis offense found ways to grind out points against an excellent Houston defense. In the NFL, you take wins any way you can get them—especially at 0-2."
Mike Florio, NBC Sports: #24
"The losing streak is over, but the Colts are still a long way from being back to what they were before last year’s collapse."
