It's only Week 5 of the NFL season, but the gap for the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC South race continues to widen.
Not only did the Colts lose on Sunday to the Steelers, dropping to 2-3, but the Jacksonville Jaguars pulled out a last-second win over the Eagles to improve to 4-1 on the year.
The Houston Texans also secured their first win, defeating the Titans, to improve to 1-4, only one game behind the Colts -- although Indianapolis holds the early head-to-head tie-breaker.
Next week is an all-AFC South showdown, with the Jaguars and Texans facing off in London, while the Colts host the Titans.
AFC South standings after Week 5
- Jacksonville Jaguars (4-1)
- Indianapolis Colts (2-3)
- Houston Texans (1-4)
- Tennessee Titans (0-5)
While the Colts have a lot to fix if they want to be a true playoff team, they are still very much in the mix if you'd like to take the glass-half-full
approach. The Patriots, Broncos, and Raiders are all 3-2 and hold the five, six, and seven seeds in the AFC playoff picture.
