TheIndianapolis Colts have officially placed wide receiver Alec Pierce on injured reserve and made two other roster moves as well.
Pierce aggravated the same heel he had surgery on during the offseason in the team's Week 2 game against Kansas City. He now has to miss a minimum of four games. He is opting to rehab the injury
rather than undergoing surgery, with the hope of returning later this season.So with an open roster spot, the Colts are signing Anthony Gould from the practice squad to the 53-man. Gould filled in as a return man last week with Ashton Dulin sidelined with an ankle injury. Dulin has also been ruled out for Sunday's game against Houston.
Lastly, the Colts are elevating Nick Westbrook-Ikhine from the practice squad to the game-day
roster for Sunday's matchup. His presence will bolster the wide receiver depth. While the Colts did sign Darius Slayton earlier in the week, it remains to be seen how extensive of a role he will have against Houston.
