The Indianapolis Colts know what is at stake in Week 3, but safety Cam Bynum isn’t looking beyond Sunday.
Indianapolis heads into its AFC South matchup with the Houston Texans at 0-2 following losses to the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs.
Bynum has recorded 16 tackles, including 12 solo, through Indianapolis’ first two games.
Asked Wednesday whether the possibility of falling to 0-3 adds even more urgency, the six-year veteran made it clear the Colts aren’t seeing the game that way.
“No, we don’t think that far ahead at all,” Bynum said, per The Athletic's James Boyd. “When you show up on Sunday, you have to focus on that team right now, not focus on the playoff picture.”

History explains why the question came up. Since 1990, only four of 165 teams that opened a season 0-3 went on to reach the playoffs, a 2.4% success rate, per The Sporting News.
The Colts will get an opportunity to change their trajectory at Lucas Oil Stadium against another 0-2 team.
The Texans also enter Sunday searching for their first victory, making the matchup a divisional test for both clubs, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
