The Indianapolis Colts are waiving running back Ulysses Bentley as part of roster cutdowns, according to Ian Rapoport.
Bentley's emergence over the summer seemed to give him a legitimate chance of making the initial 53-man roster. He was particularly good as a receiving option out of the backfield, giving Indianapolis an added pass-catching element at the running back position, something this offense arguably could use more of.

Bentley finished the preseason with three receptions for 28 yards in two games.
However, instead, the Colts are likely going to keep DJ Giddens over Bentley, and of course, Seth McGowan will be on the roster as well behind
Jonathan Taylor.
Giddens missed much of camp with a hamstring injury, but it became clearer that he might be on the final roster in the preseason finale, when he was the second backup in the running back rotation in that game, perhaps giving us a peek at what the internal running back depth chart looked like.
Bentley signed with the Colts after the 2025 NFL draft and spent his rookie season on the practice squad.
