The NFL trade deadline is approaching for the Indianapolis Colts, but that's not where Anthony Richardson's focus lies.
“Man, I just think about getting on the field. … I haven’t thought about any trade requests or any deadlines," Richardson said, via The Athletic's James Boyd.
As of now, while there have been trade reports, rumors, and speculation around several Colts players, Richardson's name has not been mentioned by NFL insiders.
Richardson requested a trade very early on in the offseason, but obviously, nothing ever came of it. Instead, he competed with Riley Leonard for the backup quarterback job over the summer, a competition that Richardson won.
He has continued to be the Colts' backup quarterback through the first half of the season.
“Just
showing up to work, preparing," Richardson said of his approach.

Against the Jaguars this past Sunday, Richardson took over for Daniel Jones in the fourth quarter, completing both of his passes for eight yards. He ran for four yards as well. This was Richardson's first regular-season appearance since Week 5 of last season. He missed most of last year with an eye injury.
Coach Shane Steichen announced on Monday that Jones will continue to be the Colts' starting quarterback.
