Looking back at the Indianapolis Colts' Week 7 performance against the Minnesota Vikings, which players received the highest grades fromPro Football Focus, and which received the lowest?
Now, before we dive into all that, I do want to mention that while PFF's grading system is certainly helpful at quantifying a player's performance, it is not the be-all and end-all when it comes to evaluations. It is one tool out of many that are out there and should be treated as such.
For some context around these grades, below is the grading scale.
- 90.0+: Elite
- 80-89.9: High quality
- 70-79.9: Good
- 60-69.9: Above average
- 50-59.9: Average
- 40-49.9: Below average
- 39.9 or less: Poor
Colts' 5 highest-graded players on offense v. Vikings
- WR Deion Burks: 78.7
- LT Bernhard Raimann: 75.6
- WR Keenan Allen: 70.5
- RB Seth McGowan: 69.7
- TE Drew Ogletree: 69.1
I guess if there is something positive to take away from Sunday, it's that we saw a few rookies, including Burks and McGowan, have solid performances.
Colts' 5 highest-graded players on defense v. Vikings
- CB Justin Walley: 94.0
- DT Adetomiwa Adebawore: 91.1
- CB Kenneth Harris: 83.2
- DT Grover Stewart: 77.0
- DE Jaylahn Tuimoloau: 72.4
Walley mostly played outside cornerback with Sauce Gardner out,
and he looked his best all season. Adebawore continues to impress as a pass rusher this season.
Colts' 3 lowest-graded players overall v. Vikings
- DB Kapena Gushiken: 27.5
- LB Austin Ajiake: 39.0
- RG Matt Goncalves: 41.9
Goncalves was credited with giving up three pressures and two sacks. His run-blocking grade was just 39.8. Over 14 snaps, Gushiken didn't log a single stat.
