The Indianapolis Colts have officially signed veteran wide receiver Darius Slayton.
Slayton, 29, has appeared in 106 games and made 78 starts. He's caught 296 passes, averaging 15.0 yards per catch with 22 touchdowns.
He was a fifth-round pick by the New York Giants in 2019 and spent his entire career there up until recently.
On Tuesday, Colts' offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter met with local media and discussed the addition.
"We have several members of the staff that have some experience being around and working with him in a couple different capacities and obviously has a rapport with Daniel (Jones)," Cooter said, via The Athletic's James Boyd.

This addition not only bolsters the receiver depth with Alec Pierce injured, but Slayton also adds needed speed to the Colts' offense. He also spent several seasons in New York with Daniel Jones as his quarterback.
