Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen made it clear which Washington Commanders playmakers will command a bunch of attention in Week 4.
During his Wednesday press conference, Steichen highlighted veteran wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Terry McLaurin as two explosive threats the Colts must account for in London.
Steichen praised Diggs’ longevity and ability to create explosive plays before turning his attention to the pair as a whole.
“Both those guys are explosive players, so we got to be all over it with those guys in general,” Steichen said, via SI.com.
Steichen added that Indianapolis must know where both receivers are aligned, understand their route concepts and limit chunk plays.
That assignment falls on a Colts secondary featuring Sauce
Gardner, Charvarius Ward Sr. and rookie Justin Walley. Indianapolis currently ranks 30th in passing defense, allowing 276 yards per game.
McLaurin leads Washington with 141 receiving yards through three games, while Diggs has a team-high three touchdown catches.
Diggs caught four passes for 33 yards in Washington’s Week 3 win over Seattle.
The Colts and Commanders kick off Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
