The Indianapolis Colts announced an addition to the practice squad on Tuesday.
The team is signing cornerback Elijah Culp. With Anthony Gould being signed to the 53-man roster over the weekend, the Colts had an opening on the practice squad, so no corresponding move had to be made.
Culp went undrafted this past April out of James Madison. He spent training camp with the Arizona Cardinals.
Over his college career, which also includes stops at Charlotte, Troy, and Austin Peay, Culp appeared in 53 games, which includes 35 starts.
Most of Culp's snaps in college came as an outside cornerback. During his final season, he recorded one interception and five pass breakups, according to PFF.
For his career, he allowed a completion rate of just 50%, while
giving up 14.9 yards per catch. He was penalized eight times over his final two seasons.
Culp is listed at 5-11 and weighs 190 pounds.
