The 2026 season was the final year of Nelson's deal with the Colts. The two sides could not come to a contract extension agreement during the offseason.
Pelissero adds that the Seahawks owe Nelson the remaining $9.77 million on his contract for this season. He is still set to be a free agent in the offseason.
Nelson continues to play at a high level, ranking third among guards in PFF's pass-blocking efficiency metric and seventh in run-blocking grade.
Nelson was the sixth overall pick by the Colts in the 2018 NFL draft. He is an eight-time Pro Bowler and has made six All-Pro teams in his career.
