The UCLA football team kept rolling in the Big Ten Conference with a 28-10 win against Michigan State on Saturday afternoon at the Rose Bowl.
Following the No. 7 Bruins' victory, senior linebacker Jalen Woods explained how the defense has been so strong despite having many newcomers coming into the fold. The UCLA defense has led the way for the 7-0 Bruins team that is the only remaining unbeaten Big Ten Conference program.
“It’s just, everybody who we brought in, it’s all about winning," he said. "We do what ever it takes to win, anyone who touches in between the white lines, any of those 11 people, anybody can help us to win whether if you are the first string or if you’re a freshman or a third string, if you could help us to be successful on the field,
you will be out there. Having everybody with one goal, and we know what we are trying to reach – becoming the best defense in the country – that is what we strive for.
“As we see, we love to be aggressive on third down. We like to mix it up on people. We want to execute the moves that we are making in practice, and that goes back to the fundamentals – being able to pass rush and what it takes to pass rush. Having that aggressive mindset can help us to take it far and getting all of the sacks and stuff.”
UCLA hosts Nevada (3-4) in non-conference action at 1:15 p.m. Saturday as the Bruins looks to remain unbeaten in the 2026 season.
