The UCLA football team welcomed San Diego State to the Rose Bowl on Saturday evening for the Bruins' home opener, which UCLA won 28-10 to remain unbeaten.
After the game, Semaj Morgan spoke to the media about how the Bruins play well late in games and SDSU's running game. The senior wideout led the way for UCLA
's pass catchers, as he hauled in six receptions for 73 yards and returned a punt 25 yards.“Just being able to stick with it and keep the energy on the sideline plays a big part. The strength staff, so we can be able to finish late in games, because you can’t win the game in the first half. Being able to play late is very important to our success," Morgan explained Saturday. "(Bob Chesney) just says we can always get better. No matter
what happened in the game, like, who cares if we won this game or not; we still have corrections we need to make. We still have stuff we can be better at.
“I’ll just say it’s just in the details. Like on defense, they know what they like to do. Just being able to be correct in our fits and lining up right. Whatever we are doing, just playing fast and everyone is rallying to the ball.”
UCLA (2-0) will be back at the Rose Bowl on Saturday at 8 p.m. to play Purdue (1-1) in Big Ten action.
