The UCLA football team kept rolling in the Big Ten Conference with a 28-10 win against Michigan State on Saturday afternoon at the Rose Bowl.
Following the No. 7 Bruins' (7-0, 5-0 Big Ten) victory, head coach Bob Chesney spoke to the media postgame about the squad's configuration, which has them ready for any situation they may face this season.
"It think it's just the whole setup. They're all in. They feel like they're 100% positive they can win every single game when they walk on that field. They walk on, they're confident. They don't overthink about anything and think it's special," he proclaimed. "They just know it's important. And based on the importance, it's got to come down to the work that you put into it so that when you walk on that field on Saturday,
you're confident enough and know that you've done it the right way.
"That's how you treat something that's important. Not special, but important. And again, they just overall know that they have standards, and they have to live up to those on a day-to-day basis and hold each other accountable. And I think when you do all those things consistently every single day, on and off the field, I think you have a really good shot of being pretty special. And that's what those guys do. They don't ever waver. They don't ever overthink it. They don't get caught too much up in the emotion.
"They just find themselves figuring out how do I get to this next play as fast as I can and handle my responsibility? Proud of that."
UCLA hosts Nevada (3-4) in non-conference action at 1:15 p.m. Saturday as the Bruins looks to remain unbeaten in the 2026 season.
