Even though the college football season officially got underway this week, there’s still more than enough time to get into a college fantasy football league, where you can bank on Bob Chesney returning the UCLA Bruins to glory, while your fantasy team reaps the rewards.
Yahoo Fantasy Sports announced earlier this year that they’re bringing back NCAA fantasy football, and while the top of their draft boards don’t feature many Bruins, Chesney’s guys are all there.
Let’s take a look at the highest-ranked UCLA player at each of the five traditional fantasy positions.
QB: Nico Iamaleava, QB19, Overall 156
Nico Iamaleava isn’t viewed as a starting quarterback option in fantasy but the redshirt junior has the upside to become one if things go right for the Bruins this year. Rushing yards
for a quarterback is huge in fantasy and Iamaleava showed what he can do on the ground last season, leading UCLA in rushing yards.
RB1: Wayne Knight, RB48, Overall 93
Wayne Knight has a lot of expectations coming into UCLA tenure. Knight terrorized the Sun Belt Conference alongside Chesney with James Madison in 2025 and is looking to do the same thing after jumping up to the Big Ten Conference.
RB2: Anthony Woods, RB165, Overall 923
Anthony Woods joined UCLA for the 2025 season, with the Bruins becoming his third college over his career. Woods put up 294 rushing yards and 211 more yards through the air, finding the end zone twice in 2025. Time will tell how the UCLA running back room shakes up but Woods doesn’t hold much fantasy value entering the season.
WR1: Brian Rowe Jr., WR43, Overall 108
Brian Rowe Jr. has gotten rave reviews out of UCLA’s training camp this summer. The UCLA wide receiver situation is still a bit of a mystery but Rowe showed real potential as a freshman with South Carolina, making him a building block for the Bruins at wide out.
WR2: Landon Ellis, WR171, Overall 415
Aside from Rowe, there isn’t much separation between the UCLA wide receivers. Ellis comes in at No. 415 overall, with Leland Smith at No. 443 and Mikey Matthews at No. 892. Ellis comes to the Bruins from James Madison, where he put up 624 yards in Dean Kennedy’s offense.
TE: Noah Fox-Flores, TE108, Overall 912
Noah Fox-Flores has a slight edge over teammates Josh Phifer, Harry Lodge and Dylan Sims. All four UCLA tight ends are ranked from 912-931 overall. It will take some game action to find out if any of the Bruin tight ends are fantasy relevant in 2026.
