There’s a lot on the line for Saturday’s ranked showdown between the No. 21 UCLA Bruins and the No. 13 Oregon Ducks but there’s one storyline that won’t occur. Oregon QB Dante Moore will not be facing his former team, with Oregon ruling Moore out for the Week 6 meeting.
Moore spent his freshman season with UCLA, throwing for 1,610 yards in nine games as a Bruin back in 2023. UCLA went 5-4 in Moore’s nine games, throwing for 11 touchdowns and throwing nine interceptions.
Oregon released their midweek injury report on Wednesday, listing Moore as one of the six Duck players that are set to miss the game against UCLA. Moore injured his head on a dirty hit by a USC Trojan in Week 4, being sent to the hospital after taking a scary blow to the head.
UCLA released their injury report, with wide receivers Mikey Matthews and Jonah Smith, along with offensive lineman Sam Yoon having been ruled out, while defensive back Tao Johnson is questionable and defensive lineman Ashton Sanders being listed as doubtful.

The former five-star recruit jumped ship from UCLA ahead of the 2024 season, heading to a conference rival in the Oregon Ducks. Moore has been great with Oregon, owning a 20-4 record as the Ducks quarterback.
Moore’s individual numbers improved greatly around a more talented Ducks team, having thrown for 4,540 yards and 39 touchdowns with the Ducks. Moore cut down on the picks too, having thrown just 10 interceptions over the three seasons after throwing for nine in his lone season with UCLA.
With Saturday’s game being a battle of former Pac-12 schools, it would have been fitting that UCLA had to face their last quarterback of their Pac-12 era. Instead, Moore will miss the game and a chance to face his former team.
