The No. 10 UCLA Bruins defeated the Michigan State Spartans in Week 8 28-10 at the Rose Bowl on Saturday to fill social media with a rollercoaster of emotions.
The Bruins overcame a lot of self-inflicted adversity thanks to their early turnovers, but they walked away with a win with a lot of heavy lifting from their defense. UCLA's defense held Michigan State's offense to just 7-points for most of the game with a fourth quarter field goal getting the Spartans into double digits. Here were some of social media's reactions as the Bruins win their seventh consecutive game of the season to remain the final undefeated team in the Big Ten.
Michigan State steals a big one
Devin Vaught showing the country how elite our strength program is. Just decided to rip the ball out of a UCLA

No need to second guess
Don't make it so that QB that just committed to UCLA takes it back this afternoon.

Starting the game on the wrong foot
Sloppy game so far for the UCLA offense – flags, drops and fumbles.

Defense woke up
#UCLA defense caught a break, forced the fumble and recovered.

Making UCLA sweat a little
Ik MSU isn’t winning this game, but it’d be nice to not shoot ourselves in the foot and make UCLA sweat a little bit

A much needed score
Jaivian Thomas hits the hole for a seven-yard touchdown run and his fourth score of the season. UCLA knots it up at 7.

Who wants turnovers for Halloween?
UCLA giving the ball away like it's candy on Halloween.

Just give it to Wayne Knight
Just feed Wayne Knight UCLA. Enough of this three headed BS

UCLA's handing over yards
UCLA fumbling is one thing, but Michigan State has returned both fumbles over 40 yards. It's the only way MSU is going to score, and it keeps happening.

Earning respect
Bob Chesney good man. Not trying to impress polls, computers or fans. Has team take a knee to run out clock. UCLA is 7-0 and earning respect each week.

Life changes fast
UCLA last season… 3-9
— Sam Block (@theblockspot) October 24, 2026
UCLA this season… 7-0
Insanity.
Where's the students?
I’ve praised the UCLA students for their attendance the last two home games.
— Peter Eric (@4thGenBruin) October 24, 2026
The student attendance looks terrible so far today though. If it doesn’t fill in more, that’s very disappointing. The team is 6-0 and it’s homecoming.
