Despite the UCLA Bruins owning an all-time 40-32 advantage over the Oregon Ducks, Bob Chesney’s team will head into Saturday’s game looking for their first win over Oregon in nearly a decade.
The last time UCLA knocked off Oregon was back in 2017, when Josh Rosen and the Bruins scored 17 unanswered points to grab a 31-14 win over a Braxton Burmeister-led Ducks team. Burmeister was Oregon’s backup quarterback but rose to action after starter Justin Herbert broke his left collarbone earlier in the season.
Since the win in 2017, UCLA has lost five-straight against the Ducks. While there’s been a few blowouts in those five games, there’s also been a pair of three-point losses for UCLA. In both 2020 and 2021, quarterbacks Anthony Brown and Tyler Shough
were able to hold off the Bruins.
This is the second meeting between the two programs since each team jumped from the Pac-12 to the Big Ten Conference. In 2024, Oregon cruised past a DeShaun Foster-led UCLA team 34-13 in the Rose Bowl. Two years later, UCLA is in better shape to put up a fight against the Ducks.
Even though UCLA still holds all-time bragging rights over Oregon, it’s been all Ducks since the start of the 21st century. Since the year 2000, the Bruins are just 2-10 against Oregon.
It’s still not confirmed whether Oregon will have starting quarterback Dante Moore for Saturday’s game against UCLA. The former Bruin was injured against USC but second-string QB Dylan Raiola didn’t miss a beat, and led the Ducks to the road win.
