For the first time in over a decade, the UCLA Bruins will be facing the Nevada Wolf Pack. The Bruins head into the Halloween matchup with tons of momentum, still being undefeated at 7-0 and now ranked as the No. 7 team in the nation thanks to a program turnaround headed by first-year head coach Bob Chesney.
UCLA gets a quick break from Big Ten Conference action, facing the 3-4 Wolf Pack, who did pick up a win last weekend over San Jose State. It'd be easy to see how a UCLA team could overlook the game against Nevada, with the team having College Football Playoff aspirations, and perhaps even some plans postgame, but Chesney and his team will need to take care of business against a Nevada team that has lost to Montana State, Middle Tennessee,
Air Force and North Dakota State.
Ty Dieffenbach remains the man under center for the Bruins, with QB Nico Iamaleava announcing that he will miss the rest of the 2026 season. Dieffenbach gets to rely on a tremendous defense and capable rushing attack, meaning that the backup quarterback is set up for success against a Nevada defense that's a step below the Oregon, Wisconsin and Michigan State defenses that Dieffenbach has faced this year.
