The UCLA football team welcomed San Diego State to the Rose Bowl on Saturday evening for the Bruins' home opener, which UCLA won 28-10 to remain unbeaten.
After the game, LB Jalen Woods spoke to the media about playing well late in each game, showcasing energy throughout and his interception. The Bruins senior linebacker led the way for the UCLA defense, recording a pick, one sack and nine total tackles, with four of which were solo tackles.
"That’s just how we practice every single day. Every single rep, every single period of practice is always hard. When we get to the game, you know it's like we’ve done it before," Woods said Saturday. "It’s really easy to. That’s just how we practice. At practice we have a ton of energy. Everything is good
on good. We always get each other better. We go through a practice in the offseason; when it’s time to get to the game, us being so connected makes it easy. That’s just how we practice every single day. That’s how we go about ourselves every single day.
“I just know, watching film, they like to do screens when it's third and medium or long. There’s a lot of film to watch on them.”
UCLA (2-0) will be back at the Rose Bowl on Saturday at 8 p.m. to play Purdue (1-1) in Big Ten action.
