Star Tyrese Maxey speaks on Sixers being able to land LeBron James

The talk of the town in Philadelphia is the fact that the 76ers were able to land LeBron James. To be fair, what else would people talk about? James is a megastar and still one of the best players in the game. He's arguably the best player to ever play the game. This is a huge move in every sense of the word.

The Sixers were able to land James on a 2-year $8 million deal as he sacrificed a lot of money for a shot at winning another championship--he already has four--and being able to play with Tyrese Maxey.

Maxey, also represented by Klutch Sports, certainly played a part in Philadelphia being able to land James. Of course, it was a collective effort from coach Nick Nurse to the front office landing Jaylen Brown in a trade, and a full court press

of recruitment from the players, but Maxey had a hand in it as well.

Maxey spoke at his foundation event on Thursday:

It wasn’t a lot of convincing. Couple phone calls, couple texts. We're good friends. He’s a lot older than me, but I guess we’re friends.

The Sixers were able to land James and the expectation now is that they will be at the top of the Eastern Conference and be in the running to win the championship. James and Maxey will be a huge part of whatever success Philadelphia has in the coming season.
