CAMDEN, N.J. -- Two days into training camp for the Philadelphia 76ers and there has been a lot of good vibes as this talented team looks to get everybody on the same page and get them ready for the challenges they will face in the upcoming season.
While a lot of focus has ben on the big names the Sixers acquired, a big development is the health of Joel Embiid.
The big fella was limited to just 38 games in the 2025-26 season, the third straight season in which he did not hit 40 games, and all eyes are on whether the 2023 MVP winner can regain his old form and be the dominant force he can be when he's at his healthy best. Two days into camp, it sounds like Embiid is all good and healthy.
"He looks great," said Tyrese Maxey after practice on Tuesday.
"He looks amazing. He looks happy. I think that’s great. When you’re healthy, and you’re happy, and you’re at peace with your life and basketball, that’s when you’re at your best. He’s been great. He’s Joel."
Maxey and Embiid will continue to be the leaders of this Sixers team despite the additions the front office made to the roster. The fact that the big fella has been able to participate in practice to begin training camp is such a big development for Philadelphia. The only injury issue the Sixers are dealing with right now happened to Tacko Fall on Tuesday.
"Tacko had a little hip thing that took him out about halfway through," coach Nick Nurse stated. "Other than that, we're good."
Things are going well in Sixer land at the moment.
