Ben Simmons had one helluva start to his career with the Philadelphia 76ers. The No. 1 pick of the 2016 draft missed his entire rookie season due to injury, but then returned to win Rookie of the Year, was named an All-Star three times, made All-NBA Third Team in 2020, and two All-Defensive First Teams while establishing himself as one of the better players in the league.
Then, the 2021 offseason happened. After the infamous play where he didn't go up for the dunk and passed the ball out in the Game 7 loss to the Atlanta Hawks, Simmons requested a trade in what turned out to be a tumultuous summer. The star guard then did not get traded until the deadline of the 2021-22 season when he was moved to the Brooklyn Nets in the James Harden deal and missed
the entire season due to the holdout plus a back injury.
Simmons then did not play in the 2025-26 season before recently signing with the Sacramento Kings. With the new season approaching, the former Sixers star will be featured in an E: 60 documentary where he hints at explaining more of what happened in Philadelphia.

Simmons last played in the league for the Nets and the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2024-25 season. He averaged 5.0 points, 5.6 assists, and 4.7 rebounds across 51 games in Brooklyn and LA. One has to believe this documentary will offer up more info on what happened in Philadelphia.
