LeBron James is one of the best players to ever play the game--arguably the best to ever play--and that comes with a lot of criticism. Throughout the brilliance of his 24-year career, he has faced unwarranted criticism for moves he's made in free agency and, while there has been plenty of praise as well, the critics can still be loud.
In terms of his move to join the Philadelphia 76ers, he has received a lot of praise for the decision, but there are some who aren't a fan of the move. Some believe James joining the Sixers is an "easy" path due to the fact that they added Jaylen Brown as well while Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid were already there.
NBA champion Stephen Jackson criticized the move as he stated:

Jordan and Kobe (Bryant), to me, Cleveland the only thing that made sense to me to keep him in that conversation. Going to a team that's already championship-ready--that's not what I would at as the best player in the league, challenging himself. I don't think that was a best player in the league move.

Jackson's point is a bit confusing as the Cavaliers are a team that just made the Eastern Conference finals. Granted, the Cavs did get swept by the New York Knicks in that series, but the fact of the matter is, that is a team that was on the doorstep of the finals.
Meanwhile, the Sixers have not been past Round 2 since 2001 and that's even with legitimate talent such as Embiid and Maxey leading the way while being flanked by Hall of Fame talent such as James Harden and Paul George. This is a franchise that has not been able to get over the hump and the Sixers will be counting on James to help them get there.
