BOSTON -- The Philadelphia 76ers will be short-handed on the road against the Boston Celtics on Saturday night. While considering this is the team's third preseason game, coach Nick Nurse needs to find a way to get his guys some rest and get them ready for when the games really matter, starting Oct. 20.
The Sixers will sit Jaylen Brown, LeBron James, and Joel Embiid for this exhibition matchup along with the injured Anfernee Simons, Adem Bona, and Dominick Barlow.
Of course, it's a bit of a disappointment that Brown won't play in this matchup due to the history with the Celtics, but the Sixers need to prioritize getting players ready for the regular season rather than a meaningless preseason game. He has played in each of the first two matchups
and he needs to a rest to prepare for the challenges to come.
