The Philadelphia 76ers have had one helluva summer under the guidance of new President of Basketball Operations Mike Gansey. After taking over the position early in the offseason, Gansey and his team have been able to completely transform Philadelphia's roster.
The Sixers have landed superstars Jaylen Brown and LeBron James to team up with Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, and VJ Edgecombe to form one of the more talented starting lineups in the league. Throw in the depth pieces Philadelphia landed and it makes sense to think the Sixers should be in the championship race in the upcoming season.
In an interview with The Athletic, Gansey gave his take on what it will take to succeed in the upcoming season:
“It’s going to take a lot of time,” Gansey said.
“We haven’t had a practice yet. Our record is 0-0, so it’s going to take some time to jell. But, I think we have good people. We have the right makeup of our players. Sacrifice is going to be the big word that we are going to be throwing around.”
The Sixers will begin the season on Oct. 20 when they take on the defending champion New York Knicks on the road.
