In this new series, Sixers Wire looks at the 16 players, per Spotrac, that comprise the Philadelphia 76ers roster — 14 under standard contracts and the two players on two-way deals — and gives each three goals for the 2026-27 season.
The new season begins on Oct. 20, and training camp is right around the corner. Now is the time to begin previewing the new season of adventure that is Sixers basketball.
Up next in this series is star forward Jaylen Brown. The Sixers were able to acquire the 2024 finals MVP from the rival Boston Celtics in exchange for Paul George and a slew of picks in order to bolster their roster. Brown averaged 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in the 2025-26 season for Boston.

Set a championship example
The Sixers brought Brown in to upgrade the roster and bring his championship know-how to the City of Brotherly Love. He has had a ton of success over his 10 years in the league and has seen it all. The Sixers are a team that has not been to the playoffs since 2001 and Brown is somebody who can come in right away and make a big impact. If Philadelphia can get him to set an example for his teammates to follow with his work ethic, professionalism, and preparedness for games, then the Sixers will be in a great spot.
Impact both ends
The Sixers have a ton of offensive talent from Brown to the other stars on this roster, but Brown will be featured prominently within this offensive ecosystem throughout the season. He is a ruthless scorer who can make tough shots, knock down shots in clutch moments, and be a go-to guy for Philadelphia's offense. He's also an underrated playmaker and somebody who will look to get his teammates involved. Defensively, he is a competitor with a strong body and a high basketball IQ as he understands what is needed to succeed on that end. He needs to impact both ends for Philadelphia to get the job done.
Carry that chip on his shoulder
Brown has dealt with a lot of disrespect over the summer. The trade from the Celtics to the Sixers has brought on a lot of unwarranted criticism and it appears Philadelphia is getting a rather motivated Brown. He doesn't need much outside noise to get himself going as he is a self-motivated player, but everything that has been said about him over the offseason should be the biggest chip on his shoulder that he can use to dominate. He is already a dangerous player, but a motivated Jaylen Brown will be one of the top players in the league.
