As LeBron James prepares for his first season with the Philadelphia 76ers, his focus is on helping the franchise win and get over the hump in the Eastern Conference. The future Hall of Famer has played 23 seasons in the league and is looking to bring that wealth of experience and production to the City of Brotherly Love.
With that being said, his presence will do wonders for the youngsters such as VJ Edgecombe and Labaron Philon Jr. Those younger players will have to pay attention in film sessions and observe how he works in order to really take in what it takes to be great in this long for as long as James has in his brilliant career.
Young guard Nick Smith Jr. sat down with HoopsHype and described his experience with James while with the Los
Angeles Lakers in 2025-26:
I mean, everybody's pretty much seen it all. I just think that the level of sharpness and the level of the adjustments players make is kind of different, especially LeBron. Like if LeBron says something, that's pretty much what goes on. Like, you know what I'm saying? And he watched pretty much every game. He's the OG of the game. So I don't know. He's just LeBron, man. You've got to be around him just to understand what he's talking about.
Edgecombe and Philon have displayed high basketball IQs. It will be interesting to see how much they absorb from James as they continue forward with their NBA careers.
