. Before his decision went public, James had been linked with a return to the Miami Heat or a potential team-up with Stephen Curry on the Golden State Warriors. However, the opportunity to help Philadelphia back into the championship picture clearly appealed to him.On the "Conversations with Cam" podcast, Dwyane Wade shared his thoughts on LeBron's decision to sign with the Sixers.
"From a basketball standpoint, I thought it is a very strategic move at this point in his career," Wade said. "It definitely gives him the best chance... I feel like it gives him the best chance in the East to be able
to get back to compete for a championship...I think Miami would have been a good move as well, but a lot of moving parts in that needed to go right. I feel like this is a little bit more, right away from the beginning, the best chance for basketball. But also, I don't think we've seen the end of what this move is. I think it's more to this move.”
By adding LeBron, the Sixers now have arguably the most talented team in the NBA. There is a perfect blend of veteran experience, high-upside youth, and undeniable athleticism.
If Nick Nurse can harness all the talent at his disposal, while ensuring everyone is on the same page, then Philadelphia will be a tough team to slow down. With that in mind, Wade is right: LeBron did make a strategic decision this summer, and it's one that could etch next season into the Sixers' history books.
