The Philadelphia 76ers appear to be getting a very motivated Jaylen Brown heading into the 2026-27 season. The Sixers acquired the 10-year veteran from the Boston Celtics early in the offseason in a deal that sent Paul George and a slew of picks to Boston, and Brown appears ready to show that he is one of the best players in this league.
Brown is coming off a season in which he averaged 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists and led the Celtics to a 56-26 record and the No. 2 seed in the East in what was supposed to be a "gap year" when considering the injury to Jayson Tatum. Before being moved to the Sixers, Brown's name was centered in trade talks with the Milwaukee Bucks in the Giannis Antetokounmpo sweepstakes before he was dealt to the Miami
Heat.
Now with the Sixers, it appears Brown has one thing on his mind: to go out there and kill it. He said on his latest Twitch stream:
My mentality is kill, you know what I mean? I feel like I want blood this year, you know what I mean? I feel like that's the mentality. I want blood.

Brown is already a self-motivated player, but the fact that he is now focused on making the Celtics regret trading him is a great sign for the Sixers. The 5-time All-Star has a finals MVP on his resume with Boston in 2024. If he can help the Sixers reach the mountaintop and end a long title drought, it would be a big boost to his legacy.
