LeBron James joining the Philadelphia 76ers is a huge move not just for the franchise, but for the NBA as a whole. The Sixers are bringing in a megastar to add to their roster and they will be looking to him to lead the way to the mountaintop for the first time since 1983.
The Sixers adding James has put Philadelphia on the national map as the league will give them the maximum amount of national TV games with 34. Obviously, a lineup of James, Jaylen Brown, Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, and VJ Edgecombe will be one of the best in the league and it brings a lot of intrigue.
Anfernee Simons signed with the Sixers early in free agency as he joined Philadelphia before even the Brown trade. He hopped on "Cousins with Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady" to
give his reaction to the James addition:
I mean, obviously, you see everything that’s going on in the media and stuff. So, you see that LeBron could potentially go there and you know, to me I gotta see it to believe it. So, I forgot what I was doing. I might have been working out or actually I woke up. I just woke up and I saw the news and I was like, “Dang, this is crazy.'

Simons will fill the role of microwave scorer off the bench for Philadelphia as he looks to give support to James and the rest of the starting unit. The Sixers will field one of the more complete rosters in the league with the strong starting lineup as well as a bench group that could start for most teams. The 2026-27 season promises to be one of the more intrigue-filled ones for the Sixers.
