The Philadelphia 76ers needed to make a roster move on Tuesday in order to stay underneath the dreaded aprons amid their signings of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and LeBron James. With Caldwell-Pope's buyout from the Memphis Grizzlies set for 5 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, the Sixers had to make a move.
That move is sending second-year big man Johni Broome and a second-round pick to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for cash considerations. Broome played 11 games as a rookie as he was limited to a meniscus injury in his right knee. He averaged 0.9 points and 1.5 rebounds for Philadelphia.
The deal for Broome to the Clippers is for financial reasons as the Sixers created some room for their new additions.

Broome will now head to LA where he will look to find his footing. He had a tough rookie season due to a number of reasons and he will look to make things happen for a Clippers team that will move forward after the Kawhi Leonard era.
