CAMDEN, N.J. -- The Philadelphia 76ers are feeling the huge impact of LeBron James as the superstar forward is certainly putting his stamp on the team. As somebody who can literally do everything while out on the floor, he can take games over in the blink of an eye and throw a team on his back should he need to do so.
As James begins his first season with the Sixers, and the 24th of his brilliant career, he is looking to win his fifth championship to add to an already impressive resume. Philadelphia is looking to follow his lead and reach the mountaintop for the first time since 1983.
Big man Jabari Walker has been impressed with the basketball IQ that James exudes.
"Just the leadership," Walker stated. "Like I didn't realize he was so vocal, and
then another guy when he talks you just want to be quiet and just listen. It always makes sense. He's not talking just to talk. Very direct, very meaningful, very impactful, and so he just commands the room. You see why LeBron is so respected, and why he's done the things he's done."
In fact, James has already impressed Walker with his perspective on things. There are so many examples where James just speaks and puts his imprint on things and Walker just wants to listen and absorb as much as he can.
"It's been like five times already I was thinking after like, 'I never thought about that' or whatever," Walker explained. "But like, usually when we're watching film, we'll ask a question, and then the room will just be like, what do you think and then Bron will be like 'Nah let’s start off this way, do this,' just to build team camaraderie, earn each other's trust, and then we'll switch up to this later on – I’m like that makes so much sense. He always has a solution for everything. That's the way I feel. Like if I know something, I'm going to Bron."
As the Sixers continue to prepare for the upcoming season, James will certainly be the engine for this Philadelphia team and push the team toward preparation to make a run at the 2027 championship. If he can help this franchise finally get over the hump and get the job done, then it will be one final incredible accomplishment on his already Hall of Fame resume.
