With the 2026-27 NBA season quickly approaching, everybody is getting ready for what's to come. Players are getting their final workouts done, fans are getting ready to watch their favorite players again, and then there are those getting ready for fantasy basketball.
Much like fantasy football, fans select players, the players then produce on the floor, and the team with the most productive roster wins. It's another way for fans to stay engaged throughout the course of a long 82-game season.
NBA.com produced its top 150 fantasy players headed into the new season and Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid comes in ranked No. 61 on the list:
Elite free-throw shooting on heavy attempts, blocks and a strong field-goal percentage. When he plays he wins
categories outright. Philadelphia’s upgrades mean fewer minutes but less reason to push him. High-variance swing.
If Embiid could stay on the floor on a regular basis, then he would be a top fantasy basketball option. He is an elite scorer, rebounder, and playmaker, and stuffs the stat sheet on a regular basis. As the 2023 MVP winner heads into the 2026-27 season, the big fella is looking to make things happen on the floor for the Sixers and give himself and the team the best chance to succeed in order to get to the mountaintop.
