As the offseason continues to wind down in terms of the NBA, Philadelphia 76ers guard VJ Edgecombe is currently working on helping his native Bahamas qualify for the FIBA World Cup.
Edgecombe and Bahamas took on Panama on Monday night in the qualifying round and he put on a show. The second-year guard out of Baylor put up 25 points on 9-for-16 shooting and he was terrific from beyond the arc as he shot 7-for-11 from deep as well as showing off his usual athleticism in a 100-82 win.
The young guard did say after the season ended that he was going to work on his jumper after some tough playoff moments. While Edgecombe was able to have some success shooting the ball during the regular season at 35.4% on 3-pointers, but then dipped to 29.2% from deep
in the playoffs. When looking at this performance against Panama, it appears Edgecombe has worked hard on that shot.

As Edgecombe continues to move forward in the offseason, it appears that the Sixers will be getting a much improved guard. That 3-point shot is going to be a big help to this group on the floor when considering the playmaking abilities of LeBron James, Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown, and Tyrese Maxey.
