If they haven't already claimed it, the Oregon Ducks are increasingly making their case as tight end university in college football — especially in recent years. In just the past two seasons, Oregon has produced 2025 second-rounder Terrance Ferguson, 2026 first-rounder Kenyon Sadiq and has a potential first-rounder in 2027 in Jamari Johnson leading the group this fall.
With class of 2026 blue-chipper Kendre Harrison also on the team, the trend of tight end dominance doesn't appear to be coming to a close anytime soon in Eugene.
But head coach Dan Lanning and his staff aren't satisfied with a mini-run of star tight ends. The Ducks are one of the major players in 2028 top-ranked tight end Tytan McNeal's recruitment, and he's scheduled a gameday
visit on September 5 to check out the Oregon program. He will also visit Washington (Sept. 6), Auburn (Sept. 19), Cal (Oct. 10), Miami (Oct. 17), UCLA (Oct. 24) and Michigan (Nov. 7).

McNeal is a Pacific Northwest product, as he competes for Eastside Catholic High School in Sammamish, WA. He's a consensus four-star and is the No. 1 tight end and No. 37 player nationally in the 2028 class, according to 247Sprots Composite.
Standing 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, McNeal has an ideal frame to excel at the college level after adding mass to his frame over the last year. His athleticism and skills aren't just on display on the gridiron; McNeal is also a coveted basketball recruit and holds offers from Oregon men's basketball head coach Dana Altman.
While the Ducks currently have zero commits in the 2028 class, they're reportedly making headway with several guys and should generate more buzz as gameday visits began — with McNeal near the top of the priority list among a slew of other blue-chippers.
