Time to celebrate. It's officially game week for the Oregon Ducks, beginning a season of championship aspirations and loaded with returning talent. The path to a national title starts with a contender for the College Football Playoff in the Boise State Broncos.
The Ducks will host the Broncos on Sept. 5, with kickoff set for 12:30 p.m. PT. The Ducks begin the season ranked as the No. 2 team in the AP Poll, while the Broncos start the season unranked, but as a favorite in the new-look Pac-12. While both teams are expected to have great seasons and push for the playoffs, the gap in talent between the two rosters is evident in the betting line.
FanDuel Sportsbook has set the line for the season opener, favoring the Ducks by a whopping 24.5 points
over the Broncos. Although Boise State gave Oregon some trouble in its last visit to Eugene in 2024, when the Ducks needed a walk-off field goal to win, oddsmakers are expecting the Ducks to have a stress-free outing to begin the season. Oregon currently has -4000 odds on the money line, while the game holds a respectable over/under of 52.5 points.
Oregon is expecting to have one of the most well-rounded teams in the country this season, returning Dante Moore at quarterback with a talented group of receivers and a veteran front along the defensive line to create havoc in the Broncos' backfield. Still, the Ducks shouldn't overlook the game, as season openers have created stress in the past, and the Broncos could contend for a spot in the postseason bracket.
The Ducks may have some rust to knock off in the first game of the season, but the sportsbooks believe Oregon will hit the ground running.
