The big one that fans have had circled on the calendar since the end of last season is almost here, despite the matchup having lost some of its appeal in recent weeks. The Oregon Ducks will pack up and head east to visit the Ohio State Buckeyes next week, and we now know when and where to watch.
The Ducks and Buckeyes will kick off from Columbus at 12:30 p.m. PT, with the game airing live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. It could end up as a battle of backup quarterbacks, as the Ducks continue to play without Dante Moore, who reasonably may not return after Oregon suffered its third loss of the season against Illinois. Ohio State, meanwhile, will be without Julian Sayin, who suffered an injury against Indiana.
That sets up a potential matchup
between Dylan Raiola and Luke Fahey, a three-star freshman quarterback who won the job in fall camp over former five-star Tavien St. Clair. The Buckeyes plan to give Fahey his first start on the road this week against USC. Barring a return from Moore, Raiola is expected to start again this week at home against Northwestern.

Oregon and Ohio State have had some battles in recent history. The Ducks beat the Buckeyes in the regular season in 2024, winning a 32-32 nail-biter at Autzen Stadium. Oregon went on to win the Big Ten and saw the Buckeyes again in the Rose Bowl, but the game was over by halftime as Ohio State won 41-21 and went on to win the national championship.
The last time the Ducks made the trip to Columbus, Oregon pulled off a shocking upset, winning 35-28 thanks to 195 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns from CJ Verdell. The Ducks won the game with Anthony Brown at quarterback and without star edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux on defense.
Now, the Ducks will look to pull off another upset, this time as an unranked team against the Buckeyes, currently ranked No. 2 in the nation.
