Positive updates continue to come out for Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore after a scary concussion that he suffered over the weekend in a win against the USC Trojans.
On Monday afternoon, Moore posted to his Instagram, thanking the fans for all of their support during this time, and he closed it with a sentiment that will get Duck fans excited: "I'll be back soon."
Here is the full quote from Moore:
"To my team, the community, and to the World, thank you. These past 2 days have been very difficult, but through all of your prayers I have made progress. There’s times I question myself and the Lord and say Why now? but I quickly remember Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm
you, plans to give you hope and a future”. I can only worry about today, and making sure I give today it’s full attention. I’ll be back soon. Go Ducks!"
In the second quarter of the game against USC, Moore took a hard hit to the head while sliding after a scramble, and immediately went into the fencing pose, commonly tied to a severe concussion. He remained on the turf for a total of 12 minutes, surrounded by medical trainers, before eventually being loaded onto a stretcher and into an ambulance, where he was taken to a local hospital.
Oregon head coach Dan Lanningreleased a statement on Sunday night that Moore's MRIs and CT scans came back clean, and that there were no injuries beyond a concussion that took place during the play.
It is unclear when Moore will return to the field for the Ducks, but this will be something that we continue to monitor going forward.
