There were plenty of disappointing aspects of the Oregon Ducks' 39-31 loss in Week 2 to the Oklahoma State Cowboys, but quarterback Dante Moore's unusually subpar play was near the top of the list.
After posting a career-high in passing yards in the season-opener, Moore followed it up with a dud, completing just five of his first 15 passes and finishing with less than 50% completion rate and 191 yards. He rebounded in the second half, scoring two touchdowns including a fourth-quarter go-ahead score, but he couldn't escape his dreadful start.
In the end, Moore was vastly outplayed by Oklahoma State quarterback Drew Mestemaker with numerous NFL scouts and general managers in attendance. While Moore stumbled out of the gates, Mestemaker ran for 75
yards on the Cowboys' first play and ultimately combined for over 400 total yards and three touchdowns.
Combine Moore's uncharacteristically poor performance and other strong games from other Heisman Trophy contenders across college football this week, and the Ducks' signal-caller plummeted in the betting odds for ther most prestigious award in the sport. Just how far did he fall?
