The Oregon Ducks have always had tremendous running backs in the backfield, and that tradition isn't coming to an end anytime soon. Jordon Davison and Dierre Hill Jr. are leading the Ducks' backfield in their second season, but the Ducks also have some impressive talent preparing to join the program next season.
One of Oregon's earliest commitments in the 2027 recruiting cycle, four-star tailback CaDarius McMiller, is off to a hot start in his senior high school season. The Texas runner is a workhorse back at Tyler High School, and he put on a show under the Friday night lights in his team's second game of the season.
Captaining a run-first offense, McMiller carried the ball 46 times and racked up a staggering 346 yards and four touchdowns, helping
Tyler take down Tyler Legacy in a 62-42 shootout. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound running back punished defenders and ran through tackles en route to four scores in the red zone.
McMiller committed to the Ducks in February and has remained firm in his pledge ever since. The Ducks pursued other tailbacks in the spring, but McMiller is the only committed running back in the class for Oregon, and he could become a key piece of the offense in the future.

Through just two games, McMiller is already halfway to his rushing total from his junior season. He's already rushed for 455 yards and five scores. As a junior, McMiller racked up 939 yards and 17 touchdowns out of the backfield. He also added 186 receiving yards and another three scores.
Oregon has shown a willingness to let young running backs take on a big role right away if they are ready, like Davison and Hill did a year ago, and freshman Brandon Smith appears to be in line for some work early on this season. If McMiller does wind up signing with the Ducks this winter, the program could add another elite runner to the backfield and continue to solidify the Texas recruiting pipeline.
