A week off the field for the Oregon Ducks came at the right time. The bye week afforded the Ducks a chance to not only get healthy, but to fix some of the self-inflicted errors that have plagued the team to start the season.
It also gave the Ducks a chance to assess the quarterback position. While Dante Moore recovers from a concussion he suffered against USC, the Ducks were able to run through a week of practice with Dylan Raiola leading the offense. When UCLA arrives in Eugene this Saturday for a ranked showdown at Autzen Stadium, it will likely be Raiola under center for Oregon, unless Moore makes a quicker recovery than expected.
Oregon's offense had success with Raiola against USC, and some of the Ducks' numbers only improved while they rested
and the rest of the country played on Saturday. The Ducks remain one of the country's best passing attacks, regardless of the passer, and have yet to be turned away in the red zone this season.
The rushing attack improved against the Trojans, as Dierre Hill Jr. scored a pair of touchdowns and Jordon Davison ripped off a 45-yard run, but there is plenty of room for improvement this week. Oregon's offensive line may be rounding into form after the bye week, so the ground game could be in line for a big game soon.
