After a difficult, mentally and physically strenuous first month of football in the 2026 season for the Oregon Ducks, a Week 5 bye week provided much-needed time to rest.
While the Ducks kicked their feet up, other programs across the country went to battle. There's unlikely to be a ton of movement in the updated top-25 AP poll, as all 14 ranked teams that faced unranked teams came away with victories. There were three ranked matchups, with the Ohio State Buckeyes, Alabama Crimson Tide and Missouri Tigers emerging with statement wins — all of whom built their resume even higher than it already had been.
Five weeks of college football is down, providing us with a bunch of information. The national title contenders are coming into view, with a quartet
of teams separating themselves from the rest. After a Week 2 loss to the unranked Oklahoma State Cowboys, the Ducks are not apart of that group, with their national title odds reflecting it.
