Missed opportunities and self-inflicted errors plagued the Oregon Ducks in a tense Week 1 home victory over Boise State. The Ducks took down the Broncos, 34-27, but had opportunities to put even more points on the board. Still, Dante Moore impressed, Oregon's receivers showed off their explosiveness, and the rushing attack improved as the game wore on.
On a sunny day at Autzen Stadium, Oregon opted to win the game with a big passing attack, leading to uneven chances in the running game for Jordon Davison and Dierre Hill Jr., but Moore and Jeremiah McClellan both posted career days through the air. McClellan hauled in six passes for 150 yards and a score, while Moore threw for 378 yards and three touchdowns.
The Ducks emerged from the contest largely
in good health, but with plenty to work on. They will get a chance to build upon an explosive start — yet sloppy — on offense when they take the show down to Stillwater for a game against Oklahoma State on Sept. 12. Oregon expects to have one of the best offenses in the country this season, and the offense showed signs of reaching that potential in its first game.
