The Oregon Ducks looked much more like the team we were expecting at the start of the year on Saturday night in a 41-27 win over the USC Trojansdown in the Memorial Coliseum, and they are being rewarded for it in the national polls.
After improving to 3-1 and picking up their signature win of the season so far, Oregon jumped one spot in the US LBM Coaches Poll, moving up to No. 15 in the nation. Before the game, Oregon was No. 16 in the Coaches Poll. Meanwhile, the Trojans have fallen from No. 12 in the nation to No. 18 after the loss.
It was a wild night in Los Angeles, with a defensive battle in the first half making way for an offensive explosion for both teams, seemingly sparked by a controversial moment on the field when Oregon QB Dante Moore
was knocked out of the game following a dirty hit to the head that saw him loaded into an ambulance and taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
The Ducks played on, though, and Dylan Raiola stepped up in a magnificent way, throwing for 289 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
Now, Oregon has a well-timed bye week before welcoming the red-hot UCLA Bruins to town, newly ranked No. 23 team in the nation after a 54-3 win over the Maryland Terrapins on the road.
