It's been a few weeks, but the Oregon Ducks are back among the top 25 teams in the college football world after an impressive upset win on the road over the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday afternoon. Oregon won 41-28 in a game where they scored 38 unanswered points and completely flipped the game on the higher-ranked Buckeyes.
Now, they're starting to be taken more seriously in the college football world.
On Sunday morning, the Ducks jumped back into the top 25 of the US LBM Coaches Poll, landing at No. 19 in the rankings. Similarly, Ohio State dropped in the rankings from No. 11 to No. 20 after the loss. This is the first time that Oregon has been in the coaches poll since October 18.
While we track the Coaches Poll each week, what is most important
going forward is where the Ducks land in the College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday night. Last week, in the first rankings of the year, Oregon as a surprise addition, coming in at No. 23. Now, with a win over the Buckeyes, it's easy to assume they will make a jump up in those rankings, potentially leading to the idea that they might be able to grab an at-large bid in the CFP this year, should they win out.
The CFP rankings come out on Tuesday at 6 p.m. PT and will be aired on ESPN.
